I'm taking a documentary filmmaking class at my university this semester. I recently narrowed down my ideas for the project, and have decided to go with the game Spikeball. The idea initially came when I helped a friend with some social media pictures for Spikeball events at the park. I had seen them play before, but a lot of curiosity sparked. How did this all get started? Why is the game so popular? Who are these people? Is this a consistent crowd, or do new people come often? Getting out to take some photos also gave me a feel for what it will be like filming with them.
